UK FTTH /
FTTP Network Build
TNS Comms (Total Network Solutions (Europe) Ltd) was appointed by VX Fibre as an FTTH contractor in the UK to deliver a major full fibre (FTTP) network build across Stoke-on-Trent. The programme covered multiple build areas over three years and required end-to-end delivery spanning streetworks planning, telecoms civils, fibre ducting, fibre optic installation, cabinet deployment, and network testing.
This project was designed to expand VX Fibre’s footprint and deliver future-ready gigabit broadband infrastructure to over 100,000+ premises, supporting homes, businesses, and multi-dwelling units (MDUs).
Delivering a city-wide FTTH rollout is more than installing cable — it requires precise planning, compliance, quality control, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. This build involved extensive work in public highways and required continuous programme management to maintain progress while reducing disruption.
Key challenges included:
