Total network solutions provides a range of fibre optic services, as a specialist cabling contractor on completion on fibre cables being installed we are able to provide professional fibre jointing and splicing services to our clients and other contractors. Our experienced engineers are fully accredited and are used to working in cable pits, telegraph poles, risers, out buildings, roof tops and exchanges.
External Fibre Splicing Service
Total Network Solutions (TNS) has a wealth of experience in fibre splicing and testing, having worked on Openreach network via tier 1 & 2 providers delivering on spine (trunk) routes as well as PON and access networks.
Fibre optic splicing requires some skill as it is important not to damage any fibres during preparation stage of stripping the external sheathing and tube preparation, external joint preparation can take some time depending on whether it is an aggregation node, splitter node or a track joint and how many cables are to be prepared. External Job Packs
Working with suppliers, service providers and clients who provide job packs including network diagrams and splicing details, we are able to splice correctly to the information provided to us. On completion we provide as built documentation as detailed in the work instruction pack.
External Network Testing
Depending on the clients requirements and their own test procedures we use the latest test equipment to test the network and produce detailed test reports in easy format so the client can understand them, these are produced in PDF format and also .SOR so they can be read on another OTDR. We have enhanced software functions on all our testers but we still use standard OTDR for advanced verification.
