Pharmaserve are a clinical drug testing company based in Runcorn, Cheshire. This organisation contacted TNS with a view to modifying their IT network.

This specialist task had unusual complications as work needed to meet stringent pharmaceutical regulations.

Following consultations sessions with Senior Managers TNS produced a detailed phased plan. It was agreed by all parties to install a Nexans CAT6 solution, primarily as VoIP and Video on Demand services were part of the requirement.

The installation and modification task was broken down into 3 phases:

  1. Installation of a new comms room, security services and 764 data points into the main plant

  2. Refurbishment of IT services within laboratories

  3. Relocating IT services through the new comms room

Throughout this phased installation and modification task, engineers from TNS had to work with other contractors as well as plant staff, as specific areas need to be manned 24/7. All tasks were carried out in a professional, diligent manner, the net result being minimal disruption to the workforce.

In total the project took 5 ½ months to complete. Pharmaserve’s IT Manager Danny was delighted with the technical support he received from TNS. The new IT infrastructure has seen a significant improvement in the way this organisation operates.
