Total Network Solutions were selected by Exfo Europe and Livingston Hire to assist Saviss with a data centre transmission problem.

Utilising Ethernet over SDH, Saviss encountered transmission problems between Frankfurt, London and Geneva. This subject was discussed at length and it was decided the best course of action was to bring in Total Network Solutions.

Neil Hobbs, Senior Transmission Application Manager at Exfo Europe called Paul Forster the Managing Director at TNS to see if he could assist. In quick time, TNS deployed engineers across all locations.

At each site the configuration of the SDH transmission was checked and modifications carried out.

On day 1 a test was carried out between Frankfurt and London using 100mbs throughput, this was successful. Following this numerous stress tests were carried out.

Day 2 consisted of testing the network between London and Geneva, here a fault was identified and rectified. Following these tests checks were carried out between Frankfurt and Geneva.

On Day 3 conference calls were successfully held between all 3 data centres.
